This evening, at the Vespers and fireworks in St. Mary’s the Docks to celebrate the Assumption of Mary, we sang the pilgrim hymn of Walsingham , our candles aloft. I can never count the number of verses. 42 in the original version maybe? Anyway, the hymn describes the founding of the shrine of Walsingham in response to a vision of Lady Richeldis.
