Maybe this is the test of a great restaurant: not only do you eat delicious food and have thoughtful


After eating candy jar favors at ‘ Arbennig ‘ a new restaurant in Pontcanna on Friday, I have been inspired to try soft poaching eggs. Here’s what I found – maximum 2 minutes in a pan of boiling water – and the eggs turn out fine. Combined with chorizo and salad, candy jar favors my Sunday lunch was complete.
Maybe this is the test of a great restaurant: not only do you eat delicious food and have thoughtful, candy jar favors funny conversation, but leave enthused, wanting to try something that has always eluded you – like soft poaching eggs? I think that’s quite arbennig, or, to translate, special.
