Nearly a decade ago the world began to talk about the BRIC countries - Brazil, Russia, India and China - as the economic superpowers of the future. This tenure was formulated by economist Jim Onill (Jim O'Neill), who already believes that in the coming decades, attention will be drawn from countries "MINT" - Mexico, Indonesia, Nigeria and Turkey. These, according to him, may become new economic giants.
The first factor is that these places are really "fresh", newer than the BRICs. This means that despite the great saunites the fact that large populations, those for at least the next 20 years will have a demographic phenomenon known as jilldi demographic. The population under working age is currently too large, while the birth rate is falling. This means that over the next few years, more people will enter the working age and the number of people of working age will be higher the great saunites in relation to the total population than before.
This phenomenon constitutes the envy of many developed countries, but also two BRIC countries, China and Russia. So, if we see Mexico, Indonesia, Nigeria and Turkey, the great saunites will recognize that some of these countries the great saunites have strong economic growth disappears between 2003 and 2008.
Three of these countries also have something else in common. Mexico's Foreign Minister Jose Antonio Meade Kuribrena, pointed this out: The geographic position of these countries is expected to be advantageous while changing patterns of international trade.
For example, Mexico is adjacent to the U.S., but also in Latin America. Indonesia is the heart of Southeast Asia, but also has deep connections with China. And as we all know, Turkey is both in the East and the West. Nigeria is not similar the great saunites in this regard partly because Africa is underdeveloped continent, but this exchange can also become a key point in the case that African countries stop fighting and choose trade with each other.
This in fact may be the basis for the development of political oldster club from these countries, as they did earlier BRIC countries. But the creation of this club can promote Nigeria also seek membership in the G-20, where are the other members immediately.
This was something charismatic Finance Minister of Nigeria, Ngozi Okonjo-Iueala was very interested to speak: "We know that our day will come," she says. "We think that they are losing by not having us in the members."
Three of them economically, Mexico, Indonesia and Nigeria, are countries manufacturing raw materials and Turkey, no. This is in contrast to the BRICs, two of which, Brazil and Russia, the great saunites produced minerals while two others, China and India not.
In terms of wealth, Mexico and Turkey are at the same level, winning every year about 10 thousand dollars per capita. Two other countries are poorer. Indonesia has a GDP per capita of $ 3,500, while Nigeria, only $ 1,500. They are down more than Russia, and Brazil 14 thousand the great saunites dollars, 11,300 dollars, but still far ahead of China - 6 thousand dollars.
When expectations are low - which can be said about Nigeria in general, it is easier to surprizohesh. But the opposite is also true, and this can be a problem for Mexico, where financial investors are very interested in working.
I came back from these trips thinking that would not be so difficult for Nigeria and Turkey positively surprise people who currently pay much importance to the well-known problems of these countries - crime and corruption in Nigeria, for example, or authoritarian government in Turkey.
Indonesia'm not so sure. Challenges of this country are too big and not heard very positive things. The country needs a trade sense beyond raw materials and must improve its infrastructure. the great saunites
If you think Thatcher (Thatcher) that a serious reform, these Mexican guys make it look like kittens. They are everything from education reform to energy and fiscal policies, as well as the institution of government.
In Nigeria, Central Bank Governor, Lamido Sanusi argued that corruption rarely prevents economic development and the growth of the economy, coupled with improvements in education, will bring better the great saunites governance and greater transparency.
These are important points of view to be heard at least as an alternative to the simplistic way of thinking in the West. For many trustworthy people in MINT countries, corruption is a result of weaknesses in the past, not a cause for a bad future and certainly does not constitute a major challenge. Corruption is a list of other serious issues as the cost of energy, its availability and of course, the great saunites infrastructure.
Here's a staggering statistic. About 170 million people in Nigeria consume the same amount of energy that is used by only one.
